Welcome to the Maya Site
This fully searchable
database
is constructed from materials published in John
Dienhart's 3-volume work:
The Mayan
Languages- A Comparative Vocabulary
(Odense University Press, 1989).
It contains more than 40,000
entries for 31 Mayan languages.
Please read the
guidelines
we have provided on how to cite any
material which you wish to use from this
database.
This site also contains
some useful information
about the database. This includes various ways to access the list
of references, an explanation
of the phonetic symbols used, and a
description of the options on the search
form by which you can access the
database.
Some copies of the 1989
printed work are still available. Anyone
interested in obtaining a copy is welcome
to contact Anette Wulff.
